EPL : Sheffield United Leicester City Facts
The Blades, runners-up in the Championship last season and hence automatically promoted, opened their first top-flight campaign in 13 years with a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth and then edged out Palace at their Bramall Lane home with a solitary goal from John Lundstram.
Not the most conventional team tactically, United may be able to catch some opponents cold who are not used to their style – overlapping central defenders et al – and their home record since Christmas continues to be absolutely superb, even at this higher level.
Hopes are high among Leicester fans too this season and they were the better team away to Chelsea last weekend, but the problem was that they could not take more of the many chances they created in a 1-1 draw.
A real test for Sheffield United
Leicester City don’t look like they have had the most fantastic start to their season, but they have actually done quite well. Wolves are not an easy side to get anything from, and they got a point in their opener. They then were able to come from a goal down at Chelsea to rescue a point and looked as if they might end up winning it in the end. That didn’t turn out to be the case, but the Foxes looked much better as the game wore on. If they continue that improvement, it’ll be hard to see them falling against the Blades.
Crystal Palace are not an awful side, at least we don’t know that they are yet, but this is going to be an altogether different test for Sheffield United as they face a very capable Leicester side. The visitors this time around will be motivated and contain a number of stars that can split a defence wide open. With Jamie Vardy and co. looking like they are rounding into form now, it’s going to be a big, big ask for the Blades’ back line to hold them down.
Leicester have had a couple of tough asks for their first two matches, but they have come through relatively unscathed. Now is the time where they need to make a dent and put points in the bank. Leicester to win with at least a goal. Check the Latest score on our Livescore Page
